Gallbladder Surgery for Australians

Gallbladder Stone and Polyps Removal for Australians — Without Losing Your Organ

Endoscopic gallbladder-preserving surgery in China. For Australian patients who want their stones or polyps removed — without cholecystectomy.

  • No visa required — Australian passports enter China visa-free (until 31 Dec 2026)
  • Direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth — 9 to 10 hours
  • 7 days in hospital, fly home within the week

"We need to remove your gallbladder." There is another option.

If you live in Australia and an ultrasound has shown gallstones or polyps, your GP or surgeon has likely recommended cholecystectomy — full removal of the gallbladder. It is the standard treatment here. More than 18,000 Australians had their gallbladder removed in 2022–23 alone.

But the gallbladder is not just a storage pouch. It regulates bile flow and plays a real role in digestion. Many patients live with chronic diarrhoea, bloating, and discomfort after removal — a condition known as post-cholecystectomy syndrome, affecting 30–40% of patients long-term. Once the organ is gone, it cannot be restored.

We offer a different approach: an endoscopic procedure that clears the gallbladder of stones or polyps and leaves the organ intact and functioning. Performed in China since 2008.

296 days 90% of Australian public-system patients wait up to this long for elective gallbladder surgery
$11,000–$16,000 Typical AUD cost of gallbladder removal in Australian private hospitals
30–40% of patients develop chronic diarrhoea after full gallbladder removal (post-cholecystectomy syndrome)

Why This Works for Australian Patients

Geography, visa policy and timing make China one of the most accessible medical destinations from Australia right now.

No visa needed Australian ordinary passport holders enter China visa-free for up to 30 days. Policy extended through 31 December 2026. No application, no waiting — just a valid passport with 6+ months remaining.
Direct flights Sydney to China n: 9.5 hours direct on China Southern (daily). Return economy from approximately $400–800 AUD. Direct connections also from Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Faster than the queue In the Australian public system, 90% of patients wait up to 296 days for elective gallbladder surgery. Our patients typically fly out, complete surgery, and return home within two weeks of first contact.
Fixed price One price covers everything: diagnostics, surgery, medications, 4 nights in a private ward, meals and ground transfers. No surgeon gap fee. No anaesthetist surprise. Flights and hotel are the only separate cost.

  3. All stones and polyps are removed under direct visual control
  4. The gallbladder is flushed, checked, and left intact inside your body
  5. Patients stand and walk 6–8 hours after surgery
